More ‘Jinx’: See Trailer for HBO’s ‘Part Two’ Docuseries About Robert Durst
Nearly a decade after The Jinx became a true-crime sensation, HBO will once again delve into the crimes of Robert Durst with The Jinx – Part Two, premiering Sunday, April 21.
Ahead of Part Two, HBO has shared a new trailer for the six-part continuation of the shocking 2015 docuseries:
The original six-part series investigated Durst’s troubled life and his alleged role in his wife Kathie McCormack Durst’s disappearance (and presumed murder), as well as the shooting death of his best friend Susan Berman in 2000 — which he was convicted of in 2021, thanks in part to an accidental admission while filming The Jinx — and the death and dismemberment of his neighbor Morris Black in 2001.
Even after Durst’s conviction — and after his death in January 2022 — director Andrew Jarecki continued to investigate the real estate scion for the next eight years after The Jinx, digging into Durst’s prison calls and interviewing “witnesses who had not come forward until now,” HBO said.
“Just hours before that last episode aired, Durst was arrested for the murder of his longtime friend Susan Berman in Los Angeles. The Jinx – Part Two meticulously chronicles the continued investigation over the next eight years as Durst awaited and sat trial, uncovering new information and following the prosecutor’s case as it unfolded,” HBO said of Part Two in its synopsis.
“The series brings to light material including interviews with Durst associates who had never before come forward, phone calls Durst made from jail to his friends, family, and lawyers, and video footage from the interrogation room where prosecutors interviewed him after his arrest. The series also features candid interviews with both prosecution and defense lawyers, as well as interviews with jurors and the trial judge.”
In The Jinx’s stunning final moments, Durst said to himself after excusing himself from an interview to go to the bathroom, not realizing he was still wired for sound, “What the hell did I do? Killed them all, of course.” The day before the March 15th, 2015, finale of The Jinx, Durst was charged with the murder of his friend Berman.
