Channing Tatum’s Private Fantasy Island Turns Nightmarish in ‘Blink Twice’ Trailer
Rule Number One: Never go on a private island with a billionaire you don’t know.
On Tuesday, Amazon MGM Studios released the trailer for Blink Twice, the directorial debut of Zoë Kravitz out Aug. 23, starring Channing Tatum as tech billionaire Slater King, who lures women to a creepy private island.
The trailer shows Naomi Ackie, a cocktail waitress named Friday, and Alia Shawkat being brought to the luxurious island where “things begin to go wrong,” according to a synopsis. The trailer starts with Tatum stating, “So… everybody is dead. Let’s start at the beginning.”
The film’s teaser introduces all of the film’s characters who are on the island, before things take weird twists: Phones get taken away, people start to disappear, and visitors start strangely showing off fake and creepy happy smiles.
“I feel like I’m forgetting a lot of stuff,” says Ackie’s character, before another one wonders, “What’s making us forget?”
Kravitz serves as one of the film’s producers, alongside Bruce Cohen, Garret Levitz, and Tiffany Persons. Jordan Harkins and Stacy Perskie are the executive producers.
Kravitz and Tatum — who are now engaged — met on the set for the film, which was originally titled Pussy Island. Tatum said in 2022 that they had never crossed paths before.
“Whether it was making me tea or pouring me a drink or going to whip someone into shape or whatever — he really was my protector,” Kravitz told GQ in 2022 about being on set together.
“That’s exciting to watch someone who’s mostly played boy next door, good guy, love interest, all of that,” she added. “I felt, even from afar, before I knew him, that he was a feminist and that he wasn’t afraid of exploring that darkness because he knows he’s not that.”
